Strax före jullovet hade en av skolans SO-lärare och jag en lektion för en niondeklass i biblioteket. Eleverna skulle jämföra ett i-land och ett u-land. Jag avslutade min introduktion med att visa Gapminder.org. Gapminder visar med hjälp av grafer hur t.ex medelinkomsten i ett land påverkar den förväntade livslängden. Varje land representeras av en cirkel som placeras in i ett linjediagram med en x- och en y-axel. Möjlighet finns att göra en tidskurva för varje inlagt land. Jag ska inte försöka förklara funktionerna mer ingående. Det är bättre för var och en att testa själv. Det jag kunde notera att detta fångade eleverna i hög grad. Gapminder är en stiftelse. Bakom stiftelsen står professorn i hälsovetenskap Hans Rosling (känd från TV-programmet På spåret). Hans Rosling hamnade bland de hundra största tänkarna på det amerikanska magasinet Foreign Policy årslista för 2009. De statistiska uppgifterna i G. bygger på olika källor. Just before Christmas break was one of the school SO-teacher and I have a lesson for a class in grade nine in the library. Students were asked to compare a developed country and a developing country. I finished my introduction to show Gapminder.org. Gapminder shows using graphs such as the average income in one country affect life expectancy. Each country is represented by a circle placed in a line graph with an x-and y-axis. It is possible to make a time trace of any posted land. I will not try to explain the functions in more detail. It is better for everyone to test yourself. What I would note that this caught the students greatly. Gapminder is a Foundation. Behind the foundation is professor of health sciences Hans Rosling (TV-program On the rail). Hans Rosling is amongst the one hundred greatest thinkers in the American magazine Foreign Policy list of the year for 2009. The statistical data in G based on various sources.
