Etiketter och Dewey
Jag har lyckats komma på hur man märker blogginägg med etiketter som synliggörs på bloggens sida. Jag tackar för hjälpen jag fått från läsare av mailinglistan Skolbib. Jag brottas med att klassificera inläggen enligt Deweys decimalsystem. SAB-systemet kommer ju att ersättas av Dewey på svenska bibliotek om inte allt för länge så det kan ju vara bra att ha kunskaper i ämnet. Fler klassificeringar kommer framöver. SAB-system will of course be replaced by Dewey in Swedish library if not for too long so this could be good to have knowledge of the subject. På en kurs i januari fick jag tips om översättningstjänsten Google translate. Jag blev överraskad över hur lyckat resultatet blev när en svensk text översattes till engelska. När jag med en elev skulle översätta en engelsk text till svenska började jag dock tveka. Denna gång blev resultatet inte lika bra. Har jag överskattat tjänsten ? Jag har dock prövat att använda denna möjlighet till mina bloggtexter sedan förra inlägget. Bloggstatistiken visar nämligen att en del internetanvändare i USA råkar "halka in" på Statistik för skolbibliotek. Jag vore glad ifall någon med större kunskaper i det engelska kunde göra en bedömning. Landguidens sida ser annorlunda ut sedan ett par veckor. En helt ny avdelning om konflikter i världen har skapats. De pågående oroligheterna i Libyen finns inte med under detta avsnitt. Beskrivning av det nuvarande läget i landet finns dock under rubriken aktuell politik under avsnittet om Libyen.Under rubriken sociala förhållande (finns under beskrivningen av respektive land) har sidans upphovsmän kompletterat med fler uppgifter om kvinnors och barns situation i olika länder. En ny statistikfunktion finns på sidan. Denna ger tillgångt till statistiska uppgifter ända tillbaka till 1960. Heltäckande källor som t.ex World Economic Outlook framför källor som endast redovisar enstaka länder. Även om dessa skulle innehålla nyare uppgifter.
