I augusti publicerade Gallup en uppdatering av Potential net migration index (PNMI). Undersökningen syftar till att ge en bild av till vilket land människor helst skulle flytta ifall de fick välja fritt. Överst på listan hamnar Singapore som skulle öka sin befolkningen med 219 % (!). Sverige kommer en bit längre ner och hamnar på plats nummer åtta och är där med det mest populära lander inom EU. Sveriges befolkning skulle öka med ca 78 % dvs ungefär 7 miljoner. Även om ovanstående skulle inträffa vore befolkningstätheten fortfarande tämligen låg.
